The School of Madison Ballet creates a deeper connection
Students of the School of Madison Ballet (SMB) receive more than a guided path to professional dance careers. While under our instruction, they have the privilege of attending one of the most highly respected and affordable dance schools in the Midwest, as well as the official training institute for the Overture Center resident Madison Ballet.
With classes from youth to adult, our trained faculty provide invaluable instruction to dancers at every stage of their pre-professional careers. We also offer drop-in youth and adult classes for community members looking to indulge in their love of dance.
We are pioneering opportunities for the entire community to experience dance on and offstage. Fueled by a passion for our craft and community, we create tailored programming that engages with topics like international culture, social-emotional learning, problem-solving, and more.
ACCESS
We push boundaries – whether they’re physical, mental or social – to craft the finest outcomes in the spotlight and on the sidewalks for this city to enjoy.
ENGAGEMENT
We train the next generation of world-class dancers with renowned faculty and enriching curriculum to inspire all generations of audiences.

We create opportunities to experience the power of dance, on and off the stage, for all ages, genders and races. Through art, we change our community.
