As the resident ballet company of the Overture Center for the Arts and Wisconsin’s second largest dance organization, we bring world-class ballet to the greater Madison area. We are training the next generation of world-class dancers and inspiring all generations of audiences. We create opportunities to experience the power of dance, on and off the stage, for all ages, genders and races. We pioneer change within our community. We don't just lift the curtain. We exist to work towards eliminating the boundary completely.

We’ve dedicated ourselves to building a better community through our art and produced a culture of connection, collaboration and change that touches the lives of over 20,000 people each year. Our ensemble provides an invaluable, enriching arts experience, and through access, engagement and exposure to ballet we are pursuing growth for our community.

Our Mission

Our mission is to foster a deep appreciation for ballet and make this beautiful art form accessible to all. We are dedicated to inspiring and training the next generation of dancers, artists, and professionals. This is achieved through the dynamic performances of the Madison Ballet Company, the comprehensive education provided by the School of Madison Ballet, and extensive outreach efforts in partnership with community groups.

Our VISION

Madison Ballet is committed to evolving ballet into an inclusive art form that reflects the diversity of our world, ensuring representation both on stage and behind the scenes. We are particularly dedicated to fostering new voices in ballet, especially from marginalized communities, and are committed to creating new works that reflect these diverse perspectives. Through this, we aim to broaden the horizons of ballet and ensure it remains a vibrant and relevant art form for future generations.
