Gabriel Aguilar received his classical ballet training in Miami, FL primarily under renowned international dancers Adiarys Almeida and Taras Domitro; among other Cuban teachers. He then became a trainee with BalletMet in 2022, under the artistic direction of Edwaard Liang. Where he performed with the company in ballets such as Mr. Liang's "Romeo and Juliet" and "Alice". As well as principal roles in the trainee season like Basilio and Espada in "Don Quixote" and the principal male in George Balanchine’s "Concerto Barocco". During his time with BalletMet, Gabriel also had the privilege of understudying ballets such as Justin Peck’s "The Times Are Racing" and Mr. Liang’s own "Murmurations", "Art of War", and "Pas de Quatre" (from Swan Lake).
Before finding ballet, he studied music from an early age and later moved on to study composition at the New World School of the Arts Conservatory in Miami, FL. Gabriel hopes to continue to combine his passion for music and composition with his love of ballet. This is his first season with Madison Ballet and he is incredibly excited to begin his professional career as a dancer and artist.
