2021/22 Annual Report

In the remarkable 40 year history of Madison Ballet, there has never been a season quite like this one.

This season was full of opportunities for the Madison Ballet community: transporting A Midsummer Night's Dream outdoors for new audiences, transcending cultural barriers by sharing the power and joy of dance with Afghan families, returning to our studios and spaces, saying “thank you” to outgoing Artistic Director Sara Stewart Schumann and staff member Gretchen Bourg, and welcoming new Artistic Director Ja' Malik.

As Madison Ballet takes this moment to celebrate the past year, we are busy planning an even brighter future.
