Madison Ballet's 'Nutcracker' is a holiday feast for the eyes and ears

“Overture Center for the Arts was abuzz with holiday spirit Friday, as Madison Ballet opened their annual run of “The Nutcracker.” The show highlights the high-caliber talent present right here in Madison, from star dancers Fernanda Yamaguchi, Eric Stith, Shannon Quirk and Alex Vrba to exquisite live music from the Wisconsin Chamber Orchestra.

The choreography is by Sara Stewart Schumann, former Madison Ballet Artistic Director, with additional choreography by Ballet Des Moines’ Artistic Director Tom Mattingly and current Madison Ballet Artistic Director Ja’ Malik. The Wisconsin Chamber Orchestra is directed by Andrew Sewell. Performances continue through December 24.”
